This will enable us  to find out what you are struggling with and to look at what you would like to achieve from counselling. More importantly this will give us the opportunity to find out if we are a good fit and can work together.

I can answer any questions you may have. At this point you can either decide to book a first appointment straight away or you can take more time to think about it and get back to me when you feel ready.

Question 2

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions depends on your needs and goals. Some people find that one session is enough to gain clarity or feel supported. Others may choose a few sessions, perhaps three to four, to work through a specific issue. For meaningful change or more in-depth exploration, eight to twelve weekly sessions is often recommended, though some clients decide to continue longer-term. There’s no right or wrong way — it’s entirely your choice and guided by what feels helpful for you.

Each sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held weekly. Once you decide to proceed with counselling, your regular session time will be reserved for you as long as you wish to continue attending.

What happens at our first counselling session?

I will send you a copy of my counselling agreement, privacy statement and invoice.

At the beginning of the first session I will check if you have any queries or concerns.

Question 4

Is counselling confidential?

Yes, confidentiality is an essential part of our counselling relationship. All that takes place between us each session is treated with respect and discretion. There are exceptions to this which will be explained in the agreement.

Question 5

Where should I base myself when we have a video-link or telephone session?

Accepted Answer

As long as you are somewhere that you feel comfortable, safe, can talk freely and undisturbed, it doesn't matter where you are based. It's whatever works for you.

Do you offer offer face to face sessions?

Accepted Answer

Yes! I am based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and currently work from a central location in Victoria Avenue, Harrogate, HG1 1 EQ. There is plenty of parking available around the area, and is only a few minutes walk away from both the rail and bus station.

I also work from The Practice Rooms, 45a Park Square East, Leeds, LS1 2NP. Situated in the heart of Leeds with all city centre amenities close by. Leeds Central Railway station is approximately an 8 minutes walk.

Ongoing Therapy: 
£70 per 50 minutes online session
£85  per 50 minute in-person session.

Single Session Therapy: 
£100 per 60 minute online session
£115 per 60 minute in-person session.

All appointments can be conducted in-person, online video or by telephone.
